Ruthless Spine's RJB system, an Intraoperative Surgical Angle Measurement tool targeted for improving ease, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in procedures for lumbosacral pedicle screw placements, has navigated its way to Africa to make an impact in spine surgery.
Learn how a group of neurosurgery residents, armed with the RJB, embarked on a mission to Liberia, Africa, to transform the landscape of spine surgery in a region with limited surgical resources.
Led by Dr. Siddiqi, founding member of ANMG ( Arrowhead Neurosurgical Medical Group Inc. ), a group of neurosurgery residents from his program embarked on a journey to Liberia with a noble mission. Their goal? To support and train neurosurgeons in Liberia. Despite having the skills of a third-year resident, many lacked access to advanced tools and training. Armed with Ruthless Spine’s RJB system; the team set out to make a difference in a country where neurosurgical resources were scarce.
For the first time in Liberia's history, neurosurgeons had access to an Intraoperative Surgical Angle Measurement tool targeted for improving ease, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in procedures for lumbosacral pedicle screw placements. Dr. Alvin Nah Doe, A Neurosurgeon at John F. Kennedy Memorial Medical Center , expressed his gratitude, acknowledging the historical significance of this momentous occasion. "Thank you so much, it is an awesome tool. Yeah it's indeed historical....the first ( Surgical Angle Measurement tool )system so far in my country's history. We are so grateful."
The impact of the RJB system wasn't confined to Liberia alone. In South Africa, Dr. Antony Thomas embraced the technology; leveraging its capabilities to achieve accurate measurements of surgical instrument angles during lumbosacral pedicle screw implantation. With its real-time visualization and seamless integration with tablets; the RJB system proved to be a game-changer in the operating room.
At the heart of Ruthless Spine's RJB system lies a commitment to simplicity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The RJB system requires minimal setup, no dedicated staff, and pairs seamlessly with Android or iOS tablets. Its single-use modules offer eight hours of continuous use, ensuring uninterrupted surgical procedures. FDA-cleared and designed for use in lumbosacral pedicle screw placement procedures, the RJB system embodies innovation tailored to the needs of surgeons worldwide.
As the mission in Liberia and the adoption of the RJB system in South Africa demonstrate, the future of spine surgery is being shaped by innovation and collaboration. With each surgical procedure and training session facilitated by the RJB system, the seeds of progress are sown, paving the way for a future where access to advanced spine surgery technology is simplistic, efficient and cost-effective.
